Women’s Sexual Health

Sexual dysfunction – Why am I dissatisfied or not performing like I want?

According to a study in the New England Journal of Medicine, as many as 43% of women reported some form of sexual dysfunction or dissatisfaction. Sexual dysfunction can be broken down into 3 distinct categories:

  • Lack of Desire (low libido)
  • Inability to Climax
  • Painful intercourse

One Wellness Place has addressed each one of these issues to help you have better sex more often.

Lack of Desire (Low Libido) -One aspect of sexual dysfunction that women often complain about is a lack of desire. It is not natural nor is it healthy to lack sexual desire; not thinking about sex or a low sex drive may be caused by one or more of the following:

  • Medications: Many medications including anti-depressants, blood pressure medications and others used to treat common conditions can cause sexual dysfunction.
  • Stress: High levels of stress lead to increased cortisol levels. This can decrease testosterone levels (a hormone most responsible for sexual desires). Click here for more information on stress, cortisol and hormonal balance.
  • Hormonal imbalance: Low testosterone is typically seen in menopausal or pre-menopausal women. It is also seen in women who have had a hysterectomy or removal of one or more ovaries (in females, major producers of testosterone).

  • L-Arginine: Increases blood flow all parts of the body including the clitoris
  • Gingko Biloba (24% extract): Increases sexual desire and counter acts decrease sex drive due to medications
  • Damiana PE (4:1): Aphrodisiac
  • Tribululs PE 70%: Aphrodisiac
  • Muira Puama: Aphrodisiac
  • Valerian Root: Anti – Anxiety / stress reliever

Inability to Climax

In addition to other types of sexual dysfunction many women also complain of lack of stimulation or not being able to climax during intercourse. Our experience and research tells us that this inability to climax is most often times due to lack of blood flow to the clitoral area.

How we can help

[G} Stimulation Gel
contains natural ingredients in a proprietary blend that when massaged onto the clitoris, enlarges it and increases sensitivity. Ingredients: L – arginine, Niacin, Primrose Oil, and more.

Painful Intercourse

It is common for women who complain of vaginal dryness to also have pain during intercourse and a decreased sex drive. Vaginal dryness may be due to genetics, lack of arousal or low hormones. Remember that great sex also has a lot to do with you and your partner’s state of mind. Women should make sure they are taking the proper time for foreplay. This increases arousal, and as a result, lubrication. Vaginal dryness may also be due to certain types of infection. Pain during intercourse is NOT normal and may be a symptom of a more serious condition. Women experiencing painful intercourse should be evaluated by a physician.
