Yeast infections? One Wellness Place Probiotics Can Help!!! 04/29/10

What are yeast infections?

It is estimated that 75% of women will have a yeast infection with symptoms during their lifetime with 40 – 45% experiencing two or more episodes.

Symptoms of a yeast infection may include:

  • Itching, burning, and irritation of the vagina
  • Vaginal odor
  • Painful urination and intercourse are also common
  • Vaginal discharge is not always present and may only be present in small amounts.
    • This discharge may be whitish-gray and is typically described as cottage-cheese-like, although it can vary from watery to thick.

Vaginal yeast infections are infections in the vagina that are typically caused by the fungus Candida albicans.  While this fungus is normally found in small amounts in the vagina certain factors can cause the candida to overgrow leading to a yeast infection.

Some factors increasing the chance of a yeast infection include:

  • Antibiotic use
  • Oral Contraceptive use
  • Steroid use

So how should you use One Wellness Place Probiotics to help with yeast infections?  Well that depends on when you experience yeast infections.

One Wellness Place Probiotics provide quality sources of good bacteria that inhibit the growth of yeast through competitive inhibition and by producing hydrogen peroxide, which kills the yeast.

One Wellness Place Probiotics may help balance the normal flora of the vagina.  Balancing the flora of the vagina may help reduce the number of yeast infections a woman gets as well as decrease the duration of how long a yeast infection lasts.

  • Let me first apologize for the late response. I have had some serious technical dificulties; however, they are all worked out. With that being said your symptoms can be due to a variety of conditions. You may have a urinary tract infection or a yeast infection. Only a physician can diagnose these specific conditions and there are various antibiotics and anti fungals to treat both a UTI (urinary tract infection) and a yeast infection. As far as natural therapies. You should first and foremost try a good probiotic. Probiotics are your good bacteria and increasing the good bacteria has been shown to help with yeast infections. One Wellness Place Probiotcs are extremely good because they are pharmaceutical grade and they contain 5 different strains of bacteria. These probiotics can also be used with antibiotics as long as you separte the doses by at least 3 hours. If you feel that you have more of an UTI, a product called cranberry and d-mannose works very well. The ingredients in this product prevent the bacteria from binding to the urinary tract causing it to be eliminated from the kidneys.

Hope this helps and once again sorry for the late response
